THE IRL REVOLUTION THAT STARTS IN THE HEART OF QUEEN’S PARK

Moot is the brainchild of Paul & Cheryl, long-time colleagues & parents of teenagers. Concerned by the lack of safe and inspiring places for teenagers to hang out, they co-founded the #IRLrevolution: a parent-led movement to give every teenager somewhere to socialise IN REAL LIFE. Moot is their pilot for a new type of venue dedicated entirely to face-to-face socialising for teenagers.

No-one will ever write a song about a game of fortnite. No-one will pen a poem in honour of insta likes. Those teenage memories that last a lifetime are made face-to-face.

But face-to-face is under threat. Society has moved online, taking our teenagers with it. We’ve seen the steady removal of all the safe spaces for young people to be together on our local high streets, only to be replaced by vape shops and fast-food outlets.

That’s why we’re launching Moot. The world’s first subscription-funded venue aimed at giving teenagers somewhere to socialise IN REAL LIFE.

Moot is a safe and inspiring space for teenagers to socialise. All aspects of the space are designed to encourage connection, from the thoughtful venue design to the relaxed social gaming and broad programme of events. There’s qualified youth workers on site at all times and it has app-controlled access, so the team always have full oversight of who’s on site.

Moot has been designed in collaboration with 25 creative and passionate teenagers from NW6. Every element of the venue has been shaped and curated by our Founding Co-Creators to ensure that it’s somewhere that teenagers want to come and keep coming back to. Somewhere they can be together, be themselves and, most important of all, belong.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

  • Members enjoy unlimited access after school, on weekends and in school holidays (we’re closed on Mondays & Tuesdays though). Regular opening hours listed at the bottom of the home page.

  • Anyone in school years 8-12 can apply for membership (sorry year 7s… you’ll just have to wait).

  • Every Moot member can bring two mates (who aren’t members) each time they come. It’s £2 on the door for non-members.

  • People that know how to make a space totally welcoming, totally inspiring, and create great vibes. Otherwise known as trained youth workers.

  • Membership of Moot is currently £80 a month, which is an introductory price for the first members we bring on board. There’s a minimum membership period of 1 month. And the £20 joining fee makes sure we can get you set up & ready to go.

  • Our waitlist is now open and we’ll be releasing memberships soon. Just click below to apply.

  • Then no worries. As long as you let us know within the first two weeks, we’ll refund your membership fee and cancel your membership (£20 registration fee non-refundable). But Moot is designed by teenagers, for teenagers, so if you tell us what you don’t like, we can always change it!

  • members of Moot get 5 mootcoin each week as part of their membership. These can be exchanged for gameplay on the house games - basketball, table football, classic arcades and shuffleboard. Any food, drink and extra gameplay can then be purchased at the bar, and Moot is a cashless venue, so you’ll need to tap your card, or use your applepay/google wallet.
